An Easy Drive

The village is located in the center of Long Island, just off the Montauk and Sunrise Highways. Park for free in the municipal parking lot in the center of the village of Bellport's Historical District.  Walk one long block and you are at the Marina or turn the corner and shops and restaurants begin.

Let the Sails Unfurl - There is sailing in the summer and gliding on the ice in the winter after the water freezes.  Any time is a good time to visit the marina and enjoy the breezes while the boats sail by on the Great South Bay.

Restaurants, Wine Tastings, Live Music & Plays

In the midst of the shops, stop at one of our five restaurants and choose steak or sea food, American, Italian or Sushi. Or you can enjoy breakfast all day, a sandwich or a salad.

Also, remember, if you want to eat outside, you can select a porch, a garden or a patio. Minutes away are two more retaurants, one with a raucous bar and kiddy menu, the other with the bar and white tablecloths.

If it's Friday, try a few new wines at a weekly wine tasting. For music lovers, every Wednesday thru Sunday you can listen to live music or, if the mood hit, sit in on a set and be part of a jam session at three of our restaurants.

If a play is what you are yearning for, you don't have to wait to go to Broadway. The Gateway Playhouse brings Broadway to Bellport. Experience the thrill of sitting in the audience and being entertained by a cast of Broadway performers.

After 200 years, The Village of Bellport continues to be a popular destination on Long Island for visitors with only a few hours or an evening to spare. And, because we are small, 1.4 miles, you can walk to the vast majority of what the village has to offer.

A Historic District, Museum and Landmarks
4,000 square feet of Art and Antiques
Range of fine Specialty and Jewelry Shops              & Restaurants
Live Music & Jam Sessions Wednesday thru Sunday
Professional Theatrical Productions all Season
Events Galore: antique shows, house & garden tours, charity fundraisers/auctions, summer & harvest festivals, haunted  houses and restaurant Halloween parties and so much more.

Three Blocks and 40 Historical Homes: Considered by the National Register of Historic Places, our Historic District is "a living reminder of the village's settlement, development and presents a well-preserved materity that is the link to our 19th century past".

Walk the broad streets lined with mature trees and admire the beautifully restored shingled or clapboard 1800's residences.          You will see a number of architectural styles and may recognize Greek Revival, Queen Anne or Dutch Colonial among others.

You will also begin to notice that many of the homes are defined by green shutters, enclosed porches and fronted by very distinctive white picket fences with gates still being operated by Bellport's own swirling wrought-iron hardware dating back to the late 1800's.

Little Shops Right Around the Corner Around the corner from the Historic District are wonderful clothes, jewelry, and specialty shops along with art and antique galleries. You can choose from a variety of items for an infant, child, teen, adult man or woman or something for your home. All the while, enjoying our personal service.
